Cosmic,

Swifts / Extreme Motorsport in Whitburn have brand new gear for doing this and a great guy by the name of George (who used to work for Falkland) - good prices too I think.

Brian.

Dougster 01 June 2004 08:45 PM

progrip won't set it up to settings I run.

He don't know enough IMHO.

Falkland or George get my nod.

New To Scoob 02 June 2004 08:09 AM

Swifts/Extreme, got mine done there last week by George, full digi print out etc, cost me £70 but I think it depends on the amount of adjustments required.

John.

ozzy 02 June 2004 10:09 AM

£70  seems a tad expensive to me.

Once the car's on the ramps and has the alignment thingies are clamped to the wheels, then it should only be the time you pay for. I paid £45 and even had two wheels re-balanced at the place in Sighthill.

Stefan

cosmic 02 June 2004 03:37 PM

phoned extreme today its 30 quid to check it and 10 quid per ajustment take it that means per corner so thats why new to scoobs was 70 getting mine done on sat

ozzy 02 June 2004 04:10 PM

£10 per adjustment  Seems a strange way to price it.

Do you know what geometry settings you want? It's very personal IMHO, so one setup won't always be liked by someone else.

I watched the guy at CLCM do the work and once my car was on the ramp with the devices attached to the wheels, it literally took him minutes to do each side.

Suppose they have to pay for the new fancy equipment somehow ;)

Let us know how you get on.

Stefan

FAO DRB5

Sorry to butt in on thread. Drb5 see when you got your geometry done do you get a pull to the left. Just curious had mine double checked and still seems to pull left with the prodrive set up. Boy said that happens with scoobies, just wandering if you had the same problem??.

drb5 03 June 2004 12:10 PM

hey there trance. long time no see bud:)

tbh m8, EVERY car on the road should pull to the left. that's the way of the camber of the road that does that. what to do if you think it's that bad, is to try driving on the other side of the road, maybe in a area where no kid's or other peeps are about just to check. it should then pull to the right. i never asked for prodrive settings mind you, but yes, it should pull to the left. it's a safety aspect too. if it pulls to the right when driving in the left side of the road, you could quite easily have a nasty accident with another motor going the other way;)

let us know how you get on dood:)

ozzy 03 June 2004 12:21 PM

The Prodrive settings shouldn't make the car pull to the left more than any other settings as long as the settings are balanced on both sides of the car.

Personally I didn't like the Prodrive settings and didn't even realise the car already had them dial-in.

I went along to CLCM with Prodrive settings in hand only to be told that it already had 1 deg toe-in on the fronts

I now run 0 deg toe-in front/rear, but with max -ve camber. Car feels a lot better now.

Will need to get it redone when I have my P1 suspension fitted in a few weeks time.

Stefan

sti-04!! 03 June 2004 01:09 PM

P1 suspension eh ?

twisties for you then oz ???

;)

ozzy 03 June 2004 03:05 PM

Yep. Also have some 18" Oz wheels sitting here in the office with some Eagle's en route.

Should make my regular trips up the Callender road more interesting :D

should be wicked m8 !!!!!

:D

cosmic 05 June 2004 09:47 PM

geometry done today front ok but rear was a mile oot george said because it was lowered + the weight of the boot install was making it toe in had to elongate the rear shocks to take the camber out now reads -0 o 07' each side toe now is -0 o 01' if ive read this right let me know if yous think this is right thanks guys
