MOT and Number Plates

I'm going for an MOT on Fridady morning (Newbuildings, Derry) and as its my first time for one Im just wondering how strict they are on no. plates? The letters on mine are smaller and thinner than normal. Would I need to change them before?

Cheers

Gavin :)

Mine failed for that last year. a waste of £20 for the re-test. especially as they came off again when i got home. You can usually get a re-test in a few days after cos its only a matter of driving through so they can check you plates.

Got a cheapo MOT legal set made up for £10 today. I notice they don't have the postcode of the place they were manufactured like they have on plates in the mainland which I think is a legal requirement over there but not in N.I.?
