anyone had a ecutek remap newage

As above. i am gettting my MY04 WRX remapped shortly full decat, ecutek, and was just wondering what the new age owners thought about the performance differences and MPG.

Unfortunately Paul that's an impossible question to answer. It's a bit like telling us you're buying a new shirt tomorrow, and asking us what we think of it. Without us knowing what sort of shirt you're going to buy, and where you're going to buy it, we can't offer an opinion.

At end of day the performance and economy you get after the remap will depend to a greater extent on exactly who maps it, and exactly what sort of map you ask to be put on.

GM think we've got the wires crossed. Its new age owners opinions i am looking for. Whats there experiences from having it done. I maybe should have worded it different.

cheers for the reply anyway. while i am here, what kind of maps are available to me with a tek 3.

Paul, I don't think the wires are crossed at all ! Performance and economy are totally dependant on the person doing the mapping.
I suggest you ask the previous customers of your chosen mapper to contribute or ask your mapper to show you dyno/race results or ask for a test run in similar mapped car.

I've got my Bugeye de-cat , TD05, etc mapped by Bob Rawle from BR Developments.

He maps for safety and drivability !! There's no real "kick" in the pants it's just like driving downhill all the time :) 325 BHP of driving downhill :)

for me it's a daily driver transport to work......I have to put the key in and drive so safety was a big concern. Mapped with wideband Lmbda, det cans etc. Top Job.

I'm sure other mappers would have sqeezed more out of the car but at what cost ??

Midlife..

PS not noticed MPG changes

I've had a remap on an 03 WRX with Pat (Xtreme). No problems, goes well and had 38mpg+ a couple of times on motorway. I've found strong pull in fourth most noticeable improvement

38 mpg :o shocking , I must be doing something very wrong, Im lucky to get above 25 but I do enjoy every little bit of that 25 mpg ;)

el headers
sportscat downpipe
hks hiper
ecu tek 3 mapped by Bob Rawles
fuel pump
green filter

my advice is to get a knocklink first and then get it mapped by a scoobynet recommend mapper don't pay twice like some of us have :(

MY03 STI

Ecutek'd by Powerstation to 290bhp (Safe map due to my engine being prone to DET)

Fuel econ... A roads 220 miles on a tank..
Motor ways 290miles
Performance.... Much smoother power delivery, easier to drive hard (if that makes sense)

H & Scott 3" to 2.5" Downpipe (de-cat)
I left the centre cat in, so the exhaust could be more free flowing.
