minimum offset for impreza?

newage for me (WRX not STI)

Whats the smallest you can get away with?

eg, 18x8, ET42?

StickyMicky 29 May 2004 11:50 PM

not sure but i have 45`s on mine with 215/40/17 tyres as a benchmark

mrklaw 30 May 2004 09:29 AM

so would wider wheels mean I can get away with a slightly lower offset? eg 8" wide is 1/2" wider than yours (am I reading the figures right?), so 1/4" either side of the middle, which is about 6mm, so 42 would be OK?

Can you tell I'm reaching here? ;P

What type of wheels you thinking of getting MrKlaw???

You got your bits form DR Motorsport??

mrklaw 30 May 2004 05:40 PM

Hi Jasoon,

Not yet, problem in the paintshop - should be here midweek. Front skirt here, but I'm waiting till both bits come in before getting them fitted.

I'm still making my mind up - bl00dy difficult. Think I'm settling on simple multispoke, and leaning towards speedline turinis (slightly prefer the equally spaced compared to the superleggera pairs). In that case its easy, they come in a subaru fitment.

But I also have my eye on Alessio turbos in 18". Saw some in a reading dealer and their finish is really nice. Just found out they apparantly do an ET45 fitment in 18x8, so might need to track those down.

I think the "official" offset is the same as the classic's still (the STi is different though) and that is being 48-52mm.

yep, but is a 45 generally accepted as being OK? :D

Jasoon 01 June 2004 12:45 PM

MrKlaw if the STi spoilers is anything like the Rallytech one you should be ok with fitting it.....

How hard is it to fit the Front skirt dose it look easy??

mrklaw 01 June 2004 01:14 PM

looks OK, but don't have any fixings. Also I'd need to lift the front of the car up to get a good look, and I don't have any kit for that...

You done your rallytech one now? I'd want to drill holes, but I guess that isn't that difficult - its just the psychological barrier of drilling a £20k car @_@

Jasoon 01 June 2004 11:23 PM

Rallytech ones been on about a week

Looks very nice.....
Havent been out in the car since i fitted it ,cars been waiting for another toy arriving...

Do you need to drill the bumper to fit the Front skirt?

mrklaw 02 June 2004 09:22 AM

don't think so. There are at least 6 or 7 holes under the front bumper, so should be a straight fit.

As soon as I get that and the spoiler fitted I'll post pics. Or I might wait for new alloys first...

BTW, What new toy? :)

Jasoon 02 June 2004 11:25 AM
