Anyone in the area that could confirm the speed limit on the

I'm fairly sure it's a 60mph single lane carraigeway before the roundabout (just after the Longshoot), although just further on where the A444 crosses they have recently reduced 2 lanes into one and reduced the limit to 40mph and stuck a camera there.

That's because you'd normally be applying your lippy at that point.

Thanks folks, surprised this thread hasn't moved to Muppets

Anyway, driver went been back to the scene today, it is 50mph so the NIP has been issued in error. (Was doing 48mph in a 7.5 tonne vehicle, which is permitted to do 50 on single carriageways unless a lower speed is in force on the road). However in typical bureaucratic style, he now has to write in to the Police/Courts with representations, enclosing a photocopy of the V5 for the vehicle concerned.

FFS all they needed to do was check the DVLA records and they would see the class of vehicle.

Get him to plead not guilty, get nice expensive solicitor and a few costs refunded. That'll stick it up 'em!! :D
