Dump Valves/Warranty
Hi,
Been thinking about sticking a dump valve on my 03 WRX, would this invalidate any warranty I've got left? Would the dealers be that arsed about it? Thanks for any info :) ____________ Bez |
Its already got one so you may as well stick with that :)

Yes, it would invalidate the warranty. Whether your dealer will be bothered about it is a question you'll have to ask them.
Incidentally, you seem to be missing Graz's point. The car doesn't just come with a dump valve on it, the on it comes with performs better than any aftermarket product you are likely to fit. If your primary concern is the car's performance, your best option is to leave the standard one on there. |

If IM / your dealership wanted to wangle out of a claim then all they have to do is show that you have fitted a non-approved part, i.e. not Subaru or Prodrive, regardless of whether it contributed to the failure or not. |
Thanks for the comments guys, sorry if my reply was considered abusive Graz - I only meant it in jest :)

all depends on the dealer really.
I've had a HKS SSQV fitted to mine now for several months, and have even had the car into the dealership for warranty work to be done. Absolutely no questions asked re the DV. Even had my ECU swapped out under warranty whilst it was fitted. The only comment I got from the dealer was to not run an oily type air filter. (common sense really) If your that worried about it, and want the DV, then take it off when you go in for your 10k services :) |
