OK guys, I need your help before I break my dash or jab a screwdriver where I shouldn't!
Over the last week the bulbs have blown in both the hazard and HRW switches. I've followed the advice in a previous post to get some 12 volt bulbs from a model shop, but just how do I get the switches out to replace them? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif Over to you! Cheers, Steve |
Sorry, what MY?

Oh crikey - that would be helpful, wouldn't it! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif
UK supplied MY98 Thanks for the nudge Phil. Steve |
I have a MY97, with the early style dash, so probably no use to you.

Difficult isn't it? They both come out forwards with a platic spring clip at each side. The only way I found was fishing down the side of the left-hand one with a small electrical screwdriver until I released one clip, then sort of pushed the switch left and fiddled down the other side, pulling the switch towards you at the same time. Getting the second out is easy 'cos you've already exposed one side clip. I did it single handed, but swore a lot.
If you've got a meter, the correct brightness bulbs should draw 30mA @ 12v but anything up to about 50mA won't be noticably brighter. Graham |
Graham, top man!
If I'd logged on during the hours of daylight I'd have gone and tried it already! Ta for the multimeter ratings - always thought I ought to get one, looks like Mr Gunson or similar will get a bit of my hard-earned! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Thanks, Steve |
