SiDHEaD 22 May 2004 06:23 PM

Was a friend of mine. Everyone was ok luckily :D I'm sure he'll be on to tell the tale in a bit!

Tyre wall at Camp corner at a large rate of knots :(

SlowBoy 22 May 2004 06:27 PM

Looks expensive!

APIDavid 22 May 2004 06:30 PM

sorry to see your misfortune  , You were going well up till then too!;)

I looked for you whilst I was there but couldn't see an obvious candidate.

I have doors and a wing and probably a mirror for your car - in blue - off the shelf, If I can lessen the pain give me a call on Monday.

David API

SiDHEaD 22 May 2004 06:37 PM

photos all over the net of this one, one with a partial of the number plate that made it easy to see who's car it is, so remaining anonomous is not going to be easy :(

Sorry to see any scoob in this condition, takes the fun out of trackdays for sure.

That sucks :(

Combe isnt very forgiving.

BlueBoy 22 May 2004 07:17 PM

:( hmmmm, yeah nasty - hope it gets fixed soon.

But a good chance to use it as an excuse to upgrade while repairing and fool the mrs into thinking there was more wrong than appeared ;)

another pic. my condolences to the owner.

BlueBoy 22 May 2004 07:39 PM

Looks even worse from that angle :(:(

T5NYW 22 May 2004 08:09 PM

Many thanks for the all support guy's :D:D:D

I could real off 100's of excuses why it wasn't my fault :(
But it was quite simply a bad misjudment of the entry into the corner and poor driver control on my behalf on the exit :( I failed to remove the opposite lock quick enough. I had full power on so once the front wheels regained grip, it drove the car where the wheels were pionting :( at the Tyre wall  but this was the first time understeer wasn't the problem ;)

At least this was a driver developement day in a safe envirolment and I have learnt a lot

SiDHEaD 22 May 2004 08:34 PM

bzz: can you mail me a better quality vers if you have it? Can host it for you if you've not got the space left on Blueyonder

Thats about as good as we can seem to get off the camcorder. (Only Digital 8, not DV unfortunately - Must upgrade camera :) )

There is a Mpeg which comes in at about 29 meg, think that slightly better, but not worth the 45 min upload time!! We are still working on getting it from tape via S-VIDEO, which SHOULD be much better. If it works, we'll post the update and let you all know.

andypugh2000 22 May 2004 08:41 PM

What I want to know is WTF caused all the deep cuts and holes in the bodywork?

Bad luck mate and hope your insurance covers track use, best of luck getting it sorted and dont forget to post the fixed up pics ;)

SiDHEaD 22 May 2004 08:42 PM

I have 100MB blueyonder space, or I can use my sidtech one, so size is not a problem, wont take long to upload unless you're on a modem  - just wondered if you could do a betterer one. No worries.

The straps and bolts etc that hold the tyres, in the tyre wall, together.

Chris L 22 May 2004 08:43 PM

Not good Tony :( Never like to see a car bashed about like that. I'm assuming you had good track day insurance cover (please tell me you did!).

Chris

Type R 22 May 2004 08:56 PM

Tony seeing that is horrible, understeer then oversteer then I guess you lifted off, which sent you towards the tyres :( gutted for you mate, glad all are OK :)

BAH 22 May 2004 09:02 PM

Gutted to see that

R.B 22 May 2004 09:04 PM

Gutted for you mate and you killed a wasp.

Silver Scooby Sport 22 May 2004 09:08 PM

Pleased to hear you where both ok just after it.....

Simon

ScoobyDoo555 22 May 2004 09:31 PM

I'm so sorry to hear about the "whoops" :(

However, I'm glad both you and passenger are OK though. After all, it is only a car :)

Shame that this type of thing shows off the the Internet at its worst

Still, there is some good to come out of this - at least I can guarrantee my students that for the next few weeks, they'll get some work done, rather than being interrupted by that noisy bast@rd motor when you drive down by me ;) :D

Take care Tony - speak to you tomorrow, and again, if you need anything, you know my number :)

Dan
