Prodrive PFF7s on WRX 04 5 door.

Does anyone know if 18" Prodrive PFF7s purchased for an STi will fit OK on a WRX 04 5 Door ?

Advice would be appreciated before I make an expensive mistake.

Cheers, Ian.

yep deffo. as I want some PFF7's myself - where did u get them from (how much and I don't suppose u can get any more)

Just thought I'd ask...

Just make sure you specify the correct offset. Theres one for the STI with Brembo brakes and another for all other newage cars.

I have the following on my 03 Stealth Wagon & they clear the Brembos with 335mm discs & the arches with Prodrive springs.

WHEELS. 8” x 18” PFF7 – ET51 – PRODRIVE FLOW FORMED ALLOY

TYRES. PIRELLI 225 40 R18 PZERO NERO

Ahh.. the wheels in question are for an Sti does this mean that they won't fit the WRX wagon ? I'd have thought that if they were of an offset big enough to clear the bigger brembo brakes on the Sti that they should fit the WRX. Is it to do with clearance from the bodywork ?

Now I'm even more confused. Thanks for the replies so far anyway.

The Sti wheels have an offset of about 48mm and the 8 inch width would make the inner rim of the PFF7s some 13mm nearer the inner wing than the std WRX wheels.
Plus the smaller offset may make the spokes hit the std 4 pots?

I would try a wheel first if allowed rather than risk it - you may end up having to remove the liner, roll the arch lip and fit Bembos.

Someone will now post to say it all goes together OK though.

Marks Wagon has the proper wheel offset for the WRX.

No difference

If you check the Subaru website, you will find that no matter what area you click on for accessories (03 WRX or 03STi), the part no. for PFF7 wheels is SACC2560 with the same offset. I have personally just fitted a brand new set by this part no. to my new 04 WRX tonight with 225/40YR18 Goodyear F1's with absolutely no problem at all (and fills out the arches lovely). Being a mechanic to trade, I checked what wheels were available for the WRX from Subaru and from OZ direct. The PFF7's are made by speedline and are the only 18" wheels in the Subaru catalogue that can fit over STi brakes, hence you need 19" OZ's for MY03 STi's, however, all 18" OZ's fit most aftermarket Brake kits so if you have a WRX, STi brakes are not a wise upgrade option. Hope this helps clear alittle confusion

When I got my narrower 7.5"x18" wheels (SACC2518) I was told that the 8"x18" ones you are looking at knock the rear wheel arches of the wagon if you fit the Prodrive spring kit. Worth a thought if you might buy the springs later.

I'm looking at options for wheels, and one is an 8x18 ET42. Would that fit a WRX03? Possibly looking at prodrive springs too if that affects things.

This whole combination sizes/offsets is very confusing. Are there any simple rules?

This gets more & more confusing. :) :)

All I can do is state what's on my invoice from Wilson's Subaru of Chadwell Heath. They ordered/supplied & fitted the whole package to my 03MY Wagon.

SACC2566 PRODRIVE SPRING KIT WRX 03MY

SACC2563 18" PFF7 B/FLITTER WHEELS AND TYRES

So far I have had nothing rub or knock except for the wife's knees now that I can corner harder. :)

Just fitted 03 7.5 x 17 STi wheels to my 04 WRX wagon & all seems OK. Offset on WRX wheels was 53, on STi was 55.

Out of interset, Mark, do you find your wheels are just about flush with the arch on the front & just inside on the rear?
Cheers

ET51 was on the label on the boxes that my wheels came in.No wonder there is confusion about what offset fits where.

I will put up a pic of front & rear wheels from the angle you are on about. ;)

Will be late tomorrow when we get back from the "Kent Modded 2004" car show.

7.5x17" OEM STI alloys fitted on a 2003 WRX wagon. Lowered with 35mm H&R springs.

What 8x18" offsets will fit a WRX wagon? I know ET51 does, but will ET48? ET45?

richiewong 30 March 2005 04:04 PM

I've Speedline Turini's 8x18 ET48 with 225/40's fit no problems so I suspect the Speedline PFF's should do so as well:D
Also have Prodrive springs fitted
