Hello
I recently installed a new alarm in my MY99 Impreza Standard stuff until I got to the remote central locking part :/ According to the alarm installation manual there are 3 or 4 possible different types of central locking systems positive impulse....negative impulses...and 2 others i can't think of at the mo.. Problem is I don't know which type the impreza uses...Does anyone have an idea which type it is???? Any help would be mucho appreciated!!! |

NAF,
Word of warning... DON'T wire your alarm's outputs directly to the car's wiring! I did and blew up the c-locking control circuit (thankfully I managed to repair it rather than having to pay Subaru prices for a new one!). What you need to do is fit a mechanical solenoid/actuator to the door-opening rods inside the driver's door. It's a two wire device, and you connect this directly to your alarm (i.e. there's no electrical connection between your alarm and the car's wiring loom). The alarm should be wired/configured for "slave motor/actuator". So, pressing the "open" button on your keyfob will activate the new solenoid/actuator. This unlocks the drivers door (mechanically), which in turn in turn unlocks all the other doors. - ColinU |
