Will Type C suspension work on an Stiv3??

I run my Stiv3 classic in serious hill climbing. Currently, I have the AVO coil-overs and tons of Whiteline products + MRT on the car.

Question:

If I put Type C full suspension struts (ie from Litchfield) on the car with my MRT front top mounts, will it all fit, will it ride too high, can you get lowered springs yet and will I feel I have a better car for it?

I have 17 inch P1road wheels, but race on Subaru Sti 16's and 205's.

I see they are selling off the units from their Type 25 program good and cheap!

Any thoughts please ASAP!

My initial thought is that you will lose the adjustability (and the b loody knocking) of the AVOs.

Theoretically Lits didn't think the units were up to the type 25- so would doubt they'd do what you want them to do?

hope this helps???

simon;)

ps. if you ever want talking out of anything, I'm your man:D

911,

Go down to Powerstation and have a look at the struts they pulled off the Type25. Then have a look at the stuff they put on the Type25, then decide ;)

Seriously, ask Dirk at Powerstation. They run an Sti3, so should know the answer.

You at Shelsley this weekend ? I might pop over to do some photos.

Cheers

Ian

Thanks chaps!
The PS units do look good, and the reports on the type 25 clearly show they work.
It was just a thought really. The crappy AVO's seem ok 'on the edge' but I am wondering if I would be better off with a softer/compliant system for hill climbing, the Spec C seemed a good start point.
There is a set for sale on the Snet, but at the asking price, i could go for the PS units.

I think I will talk to PS or better still go and see them. The car was last set-up 2 years ago and the rumble strips knok seven bells out of the front end! Interested to have the bump steer mod done, and the cambers reset for crossply slicks!

Do PS compete/trackday the Sti?

I am at Shelsley on the saturday, its a 2 meeting weekend there. The Porsche guys are there too, so will see some old friends. If you think hill climbing in a Scooby is trick, just try a bloody 911........

Dunno about the struts m8, but I do know of a few climbers here that run spec C front wishbones etc to get the extra caster and front track... AND ALK;)

Yes,
I've picked that up too. I think the Group N boys do it. I have the MRT top mounts so can dial in lots of caster and camber plus the camber bolts to add that bit 'extra'!
