Ok everyones opinion on this matter which one is faster,Not on about looks as the scooby is a clear winner just raw power! 1st hand experiances would help.

In respect of raw power ???? sorry but these are 2 very different cars and would depend on a how much you spend to get "Raw" power, where and how you wish to use it. There are Toooooo many variables too give a definative anwser. The only fact I can give you is STi02PPP is a far better shopping car than the Pulsar ;) Tony Ps I persume there will be a link to the Sunny Pulsar bbs to try and start a "Them versus us" war !!!!! |
You'll get a faster car with the Pulsar for the money (at least at normal road speeds) if your after more of a motorway cruiser, your better off with a Scoob IMO.
I have owned both & my pulsar was bloody quick, Not very practical due to passenger space & boot capacity but if you don't have a family it's not a problem. Went with my brother to have his fueling set up on his Pulsar @ John Nobles & he came away with 294.6 Bhp & 276.6 Torque very respectible indeed :D
I too have owned both and would have bought another R instead of the Scoob but as DeanF mentions Rs are no go for families and our daughters car seat wouldn't fit in the back!
I absolutely loved my R and I would suggest that if you want to cart mates and family around get a scoob. If its sod your mates only enough room for you get a GTIR. Money, space and time permitting I'd love another R just to play with or use as a track car. |
Just 1 passenger no kids no family not looks just speed that all!.Question to those who have replied who have had both scooby and R.Is there more pull in an R lower down in the revs than a scoob(I used to have a nissan 200sx old shape many years ago and the snap on the neck affect was always there on pull off, admitent top end was Sh**e b4 anyone asked it was only a 1.8 standard car)
In standard form Import Scoobs are faster!
We 've got one of each, I have the Scoob, hubby has the Pulsar, his is quicker, more responsive, but mine looks far better I think it does anyway, (he doesn't agree) and gives a better ride. Get both.

They may be good road cars ( and I am not convinced ) but on track they certainly arent. I dont own either but I would say get a scoob. |
you dont think thats down to driver ability??
TBH I couldn't care too much. For me it was my first performance car so I'll always be fond of it and only unfortunate events caused me to sell it.
I'd love to have both. My misses can have the scoob and I'd use the GTIR. |
I have got a scooby WRX, my mate has got a pulsar and his old man has got a WRX STI type RA. The pulsar wins on speed no competition but is running 347 BHP soon to be 400 BHP. The scoobies handle better. also pulsars dont like to stop unless you add much bigger brakes and they are fragile but a huge laugh, if you want speed get a pulsar 300 BHP is easy cheap and flippin quick
Standard for standard on paper i think theyre very similar. Pulsars do look  though if a little weak.
my mate has had both and always regretted letting the scooby go more than the pulsar. he reckoned the scooby handled better (more solid less likely to twitch at the back end) but the pulsar was faster. he's know out shopping for another scooby. :D
