eMac keyboards?

I just got a new eMac today (although i have still yet to boot it).

The keyboard looks like it is missing a bit (or it is very arty-farty!).

In between the main (qwerty) and the numeric keypad, in the "arrow key" section, the non-key/surroundps very low down, as if a top section is missing. Indeed the "edge" of the keyboard seems to form almost a tray shape - like there should be a top layer to keep out the dust/beer ;)

My existing iMac, with a "pro" keyboard looks as you would expect (top, middle and bottom)

Am i missing part of my keyboard (and has anyone got a picture of one to confirm things - i tried apple.com but no piccies :( )

If this doesn't make sense, i'll take a photo of mine to show you what i mean.

Cheers,

mb

Nope nothing missing. Thats the new easy clean pro keyboard. I will take a photo in a bit to see if they are the same (they will be).

Its like that so to clean it you just turn upside down and shake. :)

angrynorth,

that's the baby!!

I was worried that i might spill beer, and fat from my bacon butties into the keyboard. But now you come to mention it, my existing "pro" keyboard has managed to get dust trapped between the transparent cover, and the keyboard body itself.

I can see how the flip and shake would help :)

Bloody geniuses these Apple folks hey ;)

Cheers,

mb

Certainly are, they think of everything.

My old Pro keyboard was full of crap, at least you can see its there and you know it needs cleaning unlike PC boards which get so mucky yet you don't even know.

Enjoy the eMac!
