Web Problem

Help,

Is there anyone who can advise what has possibly happened to our PC. This afternoon we have noticed that some websites are not appearing as they should do.

Scoobynet bbs is okay as are a couple of other websites. However 3 others (at least) are not (I will try and explain)

The BBC news website and Halifax Bank all appear to be justified to the left so there is a very wide blank margin to the right. The Wanadoo home page is a little different, in that it appears to be justified to the centre and therefore has a blank margin to the left and right.

I have looked under screen settings and in the control panel but to avail. Please can some web wizard tell me what is wrong and how to put it right.

Many thanks in advance

Catherine

Can you post a screenshot?

Many web sites will detect the size of your screen. Have you changed anything recently on your pc? Firewall? Cookie security? Is IE privacy set to medium?Info about your op system & IE version would help, as would info about any firewalls.

You have probably changed your screen res from 800x600 to 1024x768.

Right click on desktop, go to properties > settings, look bottom left. :)

Thanks all for your help so far.

Nick I have sent you PM re the problem.

It isn't the screen resolution, it has always been set at at 1024 X 768 (We are on a laptop).

The operating system is XP Professional and as I have said some websites are fine and others are not.

As I have said to Nick, the problem only appeared yesterday when the other half was tabing between a game and one of the affected web pages (alt & tab)
