Paul,
In order not to get shot down I've been quiet about them, but they get better AFTER the top layer is worn off. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif Need a bit more pressure than some tyres, but I really like them. They are so much quieter than the M Pilots I had before, more grip, much better in the wet esp. To be honest, I was not that happy with them until I'd done about 1200kms, then one day...shzam! Oodles of grip. Now http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif |
Just thought I'd you know my opinion of the SO3 PP. They are nothing short of amazing, compared to the P-Zeros I had on before they are miles ahead, especially on wet/damp roads. Where the P-Zeros would scrabble for grip or slide when powering out of a roundabout the SO3's just dig in. They give you so much more confidence in the car it's unbelievable. I cant really comment on how the compare on dry roads yet because all its done is rain since I had them fitted.
I would also like to say thanks to the guys at Pemberton Tyres(Wigan) who managed to get them within a day of me asking for them. The size I fitted is 215/40/17. I am currently experimenting with tyre pressures at the moment I am running 38PSi all round. If anyone has any recommendations or comments for tyre pressures for this size they would be very much appreciated. Regards Paul [This message has been edited by paulmon (edited 01 October 2001).] |

Steve,
Because I am running a heavy ar5ed Legacy (with me in it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ) and have a definite allergy to sponge cake sidewalls, I am running mine at 40 and 38. Went for a drive in the heavy rain we were having in town yesterday, had one of those "moments" - a lass decided she wanted to get out of the rain...but did not look as she ran accross my bows http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Not having tested the S-03s in the wet much I was 5hi77ing myself as the Pilots would've just ploughed (I was only doing 40km/h), but the S-03s skimmed through the HEAVY brake and swerve without much slip at all. Still checked the grundies JIC http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif |
