Advice: Re-circ Dump Valve
What/where is the best re-circ dump valve available for a MY99 UK?
TIA |
The one that's already fitted? ;)
|
ALi-B, so I should get another OEM from Subaru?
|
It would help to know why you're asking Jess. Is the dumpvalve you've already got broken in some way?
If it's bust/stuck/leaking, the best replacement is indeed another OE valve. Should be able to find one considerably cheaper than dealer price via a vehicle dismantler/parts specialists like Grade A or Central Subaru. |
Cheers greasemonkey. A VTA is fitted at the moment (on when I bought the car), but have been told it is better to have a re-circ fitted.
|
Yes, it is, was wondering whether you'd bought a car in that state. If the previous owner wasn't kind enough to leave the standard DV in the glove box, advice remains to contact the likes of Grade A or Central for an OE one. :)

Out of curiosity, what is the difference between an OE one, and eg a Forge Recirc ?
|
Will get onto that tomorrow.

If you get the Forge one, you're instantly plunged into a "has it got the right springs/shims, is it working the way it's supposed to" process, which the OE one completely avoids. While this may be a good thing if you want to adjust the behaviour of the DV, it's undesirable for someone who merely wants the DV to work the way the car is designed to do... |
Cheers for that,
Reason I asked, is that I bought one a while ago, fitted it, took it off and sold it (for a small profit I might add!), then I bought another ridiculously cheap :) which is still sat in the box in the garage :) |
^^^^ Hmm. Do I get a refund then ?
