Help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm wanting to maximise the standard brake setup on my my99 (4pot front - back-dont know http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif ). What size and type of disks can I fit on the front (biggest), and what are the best pads to get, front & back? Where's the best place to get them from? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif
Thanks
James

Hi James,

I've got EBC discs (grooved and spotted up front and plain rear). The pads I've got are redstuff front, greenstuff rear and they are great. Really keen with no fade and no squeal and almost no brake dust. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
They look cool too, but take some bedding in (about 500 miles) during which time they aren't too clever.

Get braided hoses too if you haven't already. £50 and they make a big difference, they drastically reduced my pedal travel.

Hope this helps

Rich

Godspeed Brakes 29 June 2001 02:51 PM

James , Have you seen the thread about new brakes on general questions , There is plenty of write up and photo's about our new 335mm disc and bell kit to use with the standard four pot calipers , As long as you have 17" wheels , If you have 16" wheels we can supply you a 294mm disc and bell ,Or we can also do a one piece disc aswell , If you want any more info please feel free to contact me , Cheers , Ian ,

James,

I am in exactly the same position. Same car, and I want to upgrade the brakes, but can't really justify the expense of a complete kit.

I have been looking at all of the options, and have recently seen the Godspeed set up above. I must admit that looking at there website and the thread mentioned, not only do they look really good, but the spec seems to be good also. So I think that it is going to be this one for me.

I think that TSL also have a good set up for similar money.

If you've got any specific questions on what I've looked at, mail me if you want.

Matt

(PS usual disclaimer, no connection with Godspeed etc etc etc)
