19" OZ SUPER LEGGERA'S ON A CLASSIC

I have a my93 scooby and want to fit 19" super leggera's to it, the best offset i can get is 45 and in size 8x19. How much work would be involved in fitting these, would i need coil overs or can i get away with standard shocks. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Hi Scooby23

That will be a Picture of Scoty's car then with 19's.

If i am sure he ran the car with lowered+uprated spring's at first then moved onto coilover's. I cant remember if he rolled the arche's though.

Once on the car it look's nice and deffo set's the brake's of.

Cheers Dougie :0

They will physicaly fit with standard struts or Leda coilovers, I havent tried them with any other set ups as far as I can remeber.

I would say you would have to get the back arches rolled at least, and possibly the front if you lower it any.

8x19's is what I have fitted just now, with a 45 ET and Leda Coilovers dropped about 60-70mm, the arches are rolled slightly but not enough.

I got quoted £100 to roll all 4 arches so it's not too bad, no paintwork is involved which is good.

Scoty

I'm gonna be running standard struts and i'm looking at fitting 8x19 super L's with a 45mm offset, did you need any spacers when you fitted the rims with standard shocks? also when you run them with standard struts how much was the car lowered by. which did you get the most rubbing with, standard struts or the coil overs?

thanx

They will fit with standard struts, there is another member on here also running with standard struts (Dave if I remeber), but I'm not sure what springs he has fitted.

No spacers were needed.
If you use coilovers and lower the car you will get more rubbing than you would with standard struts/springs.
You wont get much rubbing if you keep the standard struts/springs, but you will get some at one point when you are cornering hard or driving with a full load.
If you lower it slightly, either with coilovers or standards struts and lowering springs I would recommend getting at least the rear arches rolled.
If you lowered it 60 mm or near on coilovers, your talking about all 4 arches rolled, plus removing the black plastic inner arch on the front 2 arches to allow total clearance in all situations.

Scoty: What's the handling like lowered 60-70mm with 19s?
