My clutch went last night on my93 wrx I have spoken to the warranty company who said I need to take it to a VAT registered company....does anyone know any mobile mechanics or garages that collect cars that are in or around the Harlow Essex area.

Thanx

Sean

Speak to Mark at Torque Developments in Barking, I'm sure they can arrange to get your car collected and fixed.

Gulp!

TDI aren't cheap. If the warrantee company decide that a clutch is a wear and tear item (pretty likely) then you will probably end up paying for it yourself... hence TDI might cost you a fair bit more.

Just had a clutch go,
required...
Slave Cyl assy
Flywheel (maybe a light one? I didn't go for it) You can get judder if you don't replace the flywheel also.
Clutch Cover
Clutch Disc
Clutch release bearing

SGT Maidenhead done it all for 1k(GBP) inc VAT.

Surely you only need to replace the flywheel /slave cylinder if they are damaged?

The flywheel is balanced to the crankshaft (I think). Therefore, should a new flywheel be balanced against the crank?

When the say the clutch has gone - do you mean exploded or just worn to the state that motion is impossible?

Im not sure what is wrong with the clutch yet but the pedal has lost all pressure and the only way to describe the noise when it is started is if you got an old tin biscuit barrel and stuck ina handful of nuts and bolts and then shook it around that sounds pretty similar.

Anyway I have found some one to do the work but I need to source a decent clutch kit for it so does anyone know anyone who sells kits that are available asap for a my93 WRX

Thanks Guys

It is extremely unlikely that your warranty company will pay for the clutch.

If you can ring, I'll give you a quote including trailering the car to Basildon.
