What oil for 150k miles Legacy - Please??

AS the title says....

What is a 'better' oil for the higher mileage car........

I changed the oil and plugs 2 months ago and since then there has been a blob of oil on the drive.... :(

only a little drop and it's only when I park up initially (it doesn't seem to drip continuous) :)

I'm assuming it's finding it's way out under pressure......???? Yes/no??

I had experience of this before on a previous car and it turned out to be a VERY small hole in the oil filter and only came out under pressure...

I put 10/40 semi synthetic in it..............

Did I do wrong??? (gets ready to hang his head in shame )

I wanna change the oil filter to eliminate it from my inquiries!!

So........ i'll change the Oil at the same time.......

C'mon then........... what should I pu in it??

Many thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!! :)

it's an okay oil, depends on the mods you have.

Oil leak is likely to be either front or rear crank seal, or most likely one of the cam cover gaskets.

I put 10W60 Fully synthetic Millers Oil in my Legacy. It has a few mods...none of that uprated Internals stuff.

Cheers guys,

The last remap i had done was 290bhp...... it's a 92 saloon.......

Standard turbo and innards........

Is it major work to correct the leaks that you mention???

What oil would you put in yours (may be the way to word it)

Cheers

castrol rs 10w60 used it my last scoob 100000miles never had any probs except cam cover gasket gasket £10 easy enough to fit or a good mechanic should not charge alot for this.

I have a good mate who is a independant mechanic in the midlands. Always looks after my cars for me, and is currently sorting my legacy, he has just got me Motul 15-50 300v in at 32.50 inc for the 4litres. He also does the NGK Platinum plugs at 25 a box of 4.

Drop me a PM if you want his contact details. ;)
