released handbrake and the handbrake light stayed on, hmm, not good, car seems to drive ok, so what could it be.
Pete Croney told me on iwoc that the light also doubles as a brake fluild warning, so maybe the fluid is low, if so then what fluid should I use? any ideas? could it be warn rear pads? |
Markus - I do not know whether this helps but.....
I had the same problem, and all that was wrong was the connector at the back of the warning lamp was not properly connected. Richard. |
I'd look at the brake fluid level. it should be in a small container near the top of the motor. On US models, it's on the right side along the firewall.
|
OK, checked fluid level and it's near the max mark, checked for leaks and cannot see any. So what's next.
I know when I got it serviced my mechanic said that the rears were part worn, so I guess the pads and possibly discs are now even more worn. |
Hi
Graham told me that the micro switch sticks under the handbrake, the switch stays down and the light stays on......? J |
james,
Thanks, will have a look for the switch tonight. Was going to talk to graham about it at some point. |
