Burnt Rubber 17 May 2001 03:14 PM

My '96 has 16 in. Speedlines (And hence, I assume Lower Profile rubber). The std was 15 in. Checking the recommended tyre pressures on front door sticker, it occured to me, they're larger rims! <Flash Light Bulb here>

Here comes the question.

Do I keep the same pressures as recommended on the sticker despite having less volume to fill, OR do I need to drop it some and by how much?

Don't know what your suspension setup is but...

For good handling:
Front 38psi
Rear 36psi

For comfort
Front 34psi
Rear 32psi

In general tyre pressure is the same regardless what tyre size you use.
You measure pressure not amout of air

Above is a very general statement. If you go for lower profile tyres you will normally ingrease the pressure a bit.
