Early Closed Deck later Open Deck ?
 

Hi All,

I have the chance to replace my dead MY97uk short motor with a MY93 closed deck block, or a later my01UK I presume open deck block. Will the later engine fit? also the later engine has done about 10000 less miles but about £75 more........

Btter with the closed deck As this will handle any future boost increases with less stress

is the stroke the same between phase 1 and phase 2?

Bore and stroke are the same but crank journals are different.

Is that going to cause me a problem putting a phase 2 eingine onto phase 1 heads?

Basically I have bought the phase 2 short block now will this cuase any major ball aches ?

what are the models of impreza which are fitted with closed deck engine exactly ? :confused:
