yet another thinking about thinking about™ thread http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

What problems would I encounter if I wanted to put 18 inch wheels on the blackbeast?

I've heard 18's really affect the handling quite badly.

So, whats the score?

If you've sorted the suspension the negative effect of the 18" wheel (weight) wouldn't be a problem.

THE problem is finding a wheel that fits, and suits your car/taste.

The lovely Proxes are available in 215/35x18 (which is what I've got)...if you go to 225 I believe Prodrive states that the only tire that'll fit is the PZero.

I've gone for 18"...I already had LedaB on the car, I haven't noticed any nasty sideeffects...yet. My scoob feels like a gocart.

I believe Scoobysport has one of the better 18's for the scoob, one from Speedline IIRC light, and sturdy.

Hi Markus,

I've been thinking about 18" ers for a while, but have not had much response here (except from SecretAgentMan - Cheers). I have decided to take the plunge and have ordered the Speedlines mentioned, with P-Zero 225/35 tyres. I've got a service coming up pretty soon and will be getting them to reset the geometry to the Prodrive settings (advice from Mike at Prodrive).

As soon as I get them I'll try and post some pictures and can let you know about the handling etc.

A word of advice though - make sure you shop around as you can get some good deals if you take a little time !!! E-mail me if you would like more info.

Simon
