MY03 de-tango front indcators???

Chaps

I'm sure I've seen a crystal front indicator for the MY03 on the BBS somewhere..... but I'm bu**ered if I can find it now!

I saw an image that looks like a direct replacment for the 'tango' indicator.

Anyone know if and where this product is available?

Thanks. J.

If your taking about the orange wedge inside the front headlight the only way to remove it is to take the light apart AFAIK

Blimey

I really don't fancy 'cooking' my lights! Buying new de-tango'd lights seems the best option, but a little costly at the mo.

Thanks for the help Nathan/Jolley

There was me thinking I was going insane

A little while ago I was telling PC555 "Jase" that I was sure they put the blob eyes in the oven to de-tango them but it sounded so strange

I was not going mad after all ............ lol

Simon :D

Fulham71 16 April 2004 05:50 PM

Hi simon
you ok mate ! Hows the beast ;)
Yes they do need to be cooked
but its not as hard or scarey as it sounds !

Great thanks Paul !!

Hey what a diffence de-dangoed
It really sets the front off well........ makes you wonder why the designers included those orange sections in the begining, they must surely realise it's one of the first jobs any keen Impreza driver does is the de-tango mod

If his wife let's him use the oven of course

YHM too Paul

Cheers
Simon

Looks like silver fusion are going under:

http://www.silverfusion.co.uk

Last stocks of the WY21W bulbs for sale! (unless you fancy doing them yourself) Other stocks of silver (or even amber) of this bulb fitment are nigh on impossible to find!

jon17 28 April 2004 07:02 PM

naturbo2000

Just phoned, enquired about stock - approx. 50 pairs left. Ordered mine front and back £13.50/PR. Total £27 including 1st class recorded delivery!!!

Backs are easy - once you figure out how to move/stretch the rubbery sponges blocking the back of the bulbs (I broke one side, but it doesn't matter)

Fronts are a little more fiddley - definately use the oven rather than a hairdryer (the other technique), as you get a much more even distribution of heat, so less stress on the plastic when you seperate front from back and a better seal when you come to put them back together.

My bulbs from silverfusion arrived today:cool:

no way I'm putting my lights in my oven - except maybe to see the expression on my wife's face before the approach of the frying pan :)

Someone mentioned here that they knew a dealer that would do this for them - can anyone say here or PM me?

mrklaw 04 May 2004 08:52 PM

just for sh1ts and giggles, I had a play with photoshop and detangoed my headlights and popped a front splitter on. Black definitely needs detangoing IMO.

whiteyisback 05 May 2004 05:44 PM

which model bulbs for back, front and side indicators ?

elmer ?.....pls let me know b4 i make an order.

cheers matey

naturbo2000 05 May 2004 06:28 PM

They're the only bulbs SilverFusion do now Whitey

WY21W (W21W identical - strictly the Y is for Orange!?!?!) for fronts and rears

Sides are W5W (IIRC)

I did a search for these a long time ago - so there are a bunch of other names for the bulbs, none of which are stocked anywhere else in the UK. (I would look up my old thread, but Search refuses to believe it exists...)

btw - you can't replace the bulbs in the standard side repeaters! they're completely sealed units (get some crystal ones anyway from TSL/ScoobyWorld)

mrklaw 05 May 2004 08:20 PM

so if I buy the ultra smoked side repeaters for a black car, do they have the bulbs in already? I don't have to do anything?

naturbo2000 06 May 2004 11:03 PM

depends...

Subaru (dealer supplied) side repeaters come with bulbs, I wouldn't want to suggest what other manufacturers do (though I'd be suprised if they didn't come with a pair of orange bulbs).
