What type of brakes are best. cross drilled, grooved, vented so many makes and types, it's hard to choose.

Also whats the diff between 4 po and 6 pot.
Is it the pistons that ram the pad against the disk??

Cheers
Lee

Lee, you need to give MORE details as to what you're going to use them for? Track, Road, Mix!

Lee, as Danny says, what kind of driving and how much you wanna spend? What car, year?

If you feel you need new brakes, in my opinion there is only one solution; that is:

Bigger disc and more pots. Slotted AP Racing discs seems to have the lowest warp- and crack factor, AP four-pot calipers should be enough for anythink but real racing. Buy the biggest discs you can afford (and fit under your wheels). If they don't fit: bigger wheels too.

Sorry guys. It was just a general question on the teminology of the brake systems.

Hypothetically road use with say 4 track days a year.

Lee, I would got the the AP calipers using grooved discs. This was fine for me last year. I did 4 track days on them, and I am pretty hard on the brakes normally too.

Pads for road use, I would got for something like DS2000 or Z rated from carbon metallic.
