NACRO 14 April 2004 01:31 PM

My 300E 24V is pimping - that monster is totally pimping :D:D

Dracoro 14 April 2004 01:58 PM

Be quite nice once you've got rid of the silly bodykit & spoiler.

Merc's have NEVER looked right with bodykits (imo blah blah blah but i'm right :D ) They should always look nice and understated.

Yeah the merc evo was a bit OTT - nearly as silly is the spoiler on my STI 5

So you're telling me that if someone offered you that motor you'd say "sorry mate, but I'll give it a miss. It's just not my thing":)

Yeah f**king right you would, and I go by the name of Mr E Presley when I'm doing my shift at the chipshop;)

Dracoro 15 April 2004 10:13 AM

No, it's simple. Id take it and remove the chavtastic kit and replace it with std merc stuff. easy.

what would scooby do 15 April 2004 10:33 AM

unfortunately that's a "factory" fit pukka AMG bodykit so even though it looks very 80's is a genuine part of the car :)

Dapster 15 April 2004 06:49 PM

I agree with Dracoro - get rid of the Chavvy kit and restore it back into what it was - one of the most understated and elegant executive expresses of the day.

I don't agree. AMG were not part of Mercedes Benz back then so any kitted up car was by definitition an aftermarket job. Also, that's not an AMG kit - more like a Lorinser (the wheels definitely are) - and those horrendous front and rear wing bulges are the work of Satan and his little wizards.

Finally, I think that it isn't even a 560 - more like a 500 as it has the ribbed stripes on the lower body cladding that was updated with the smooth style when the W126 range was revised and the 560 launched (no headlight wipers either but that may be a country specific thing....).

If you do buy one you'd be in good company. Robert Plant bought one as it was the only car with a reclining rear seat ;) also uber posh-**** Brian Sewell has one.

bdrought 16 April 2004 03:37 PM

Yup.... an Uber-Merc should be a subtle beast.

although non-subtle is just as good...

bdrought 19 April 2004 10:17 PM

Spooky !

I can just about see the top of the new MB dealership from my window, and used to be able to see the MaccyD's sign before another house got built in the way. You must be very close !!
