You'll need some mini skirted ho's to go with it though......................
My 300E 24V is pimping - that monster is totally pimping :D:D
Be quite nice once you've got rid of the silly bodykit & spoiler.
Merc's have NEVER looked right with bodykits (imo blah blah blah but i'm right :D ) They should always look nice and understated. |

So you're telling me that if someone offered you that motor you'd say "sorry mate, but I'll give it a miss. It's just not my thing":) Yeah f**king right you would, and I go by the name of Mr E Presley when I'm doing my shift at the chipshop;) |
No, it's simple. Id take it and remove the chavtastic kit and replace it with std merc stuff. easy.
unfortunately that's a "factory" fit pukka AMG bodykit so even though it looks very 80's is a genuine part of the car :)
I agree with Dracoro - get rid of the Chavvy kit and restore it back into what it was - one of the most understated and elegant executive expresses of the day.

Finally, I think that it isn't even a 560 - more like a 500 as it has the ribbed stripes on the lower body cladding that was updated with the smooth style when the W126 range was revised and the 560 launched (no headlight wipers either but that may be a country specific thing....). If you do buy one you'd be in good company. Robert Plant bought one as it was the only car with a reclining rear seat ;) also uber posh-**** Brian Sewell has one.
Yup.... an Uber-Merc should be a subtle beast.
http://www.briandrought.com/500e/lowres/lr_DCP_0077.JPG although non-subtle is just as good... http://www.briandrought.com/500e/lowres/burnout1.jpg http://www.briandrought.com/500e/ont...berBarge-7.JPG :-D |
You never miss a chance to sneak that not so wee beastie into a thread do you:)
bdrought - where abouts where the first pics taken ??

Perhaps you could take it to Germany and do a few laps of the Nurburbling.
My fav Merc :) (the 560 SEC )

I knew I recognised Milton Keynes - Kingston - I can see it from my house :D:D
Spooky !
I can just about see the top of the new MB dealership from my window, and used to be able to see the MaccyD's sign before another house got built in the way. You must be very close !! |
If kingston is to the East - same place chap ;)

If you fancy having a look at the 500 etc drop me a mail to brian@briandrought.com :-) |
