Fitting centre guage pod and autometer guages - few Qs?

Just got a 3 guage centre pod and have a couple of Qs regaring fitting.

How do I get the OE lid off and hinges without breaking it?
Do I have to cut a hole in the bin area to fit the cables through?
I guess strong double sided tape will do for anchoring or screw into it through bottom of bin area?
Its made from fibreglass and smells bad - will the smell go away?

Autometer gauges -

Where do I get the adapter for the oil temp senor to go above No.3 cylinder and which do I need?

How do I wire up the AFR gauge?

Got the adaptor pipe for the oil pressure sorted at think auto thanks to Chiarks website.

thanks in advance.

Talk to Mike at Scoobymania. He should be able to provide you with the adaptor for the No. 3 cylinder and has fitted a lot of sets of gauges so should be able to offer advice (to go with your adaptor purchase ;) ). Which one you need depends on the screw thread of the sensor.

Chiark's site has most of the info on you need. What model car is it?

I think to get the lid off you will need to remove the whole binnacle bit as mentioned on Chiark's site. On my old MY00 I ended up pulling a duster through the catch at the front and pulling using that as well as from the back to get the binnacle out (after removing the screws). Once you have the binnacle out you will have a better idea of the wiring as well.

Yes the smell should go away :)

The AFR will probably tap into one of the wires on the ECU. I forget which.
