JackClark 08 April 2004 09:30 PM

Reminds me of a small scoop on a Nova. Same league.

Danny B 08 April 2004 09:41 PM

That just doesn't look right :(

SirFozzalot 08 April 2004 09:56 PM

I think it looks ok :)

A bit different for a classic at least and don't think it looks too out of place due to the shape and size of the front splitter. Nice one! :D

Its fully functional and comes with the scoop paneled over so you can cut it all out or cut it like mine and leave the bars in place. Its a 'see it in the skin' thing and when you do it looks brilliant. Growing fonder of it day by day.

Elmer Fudpucker 08 April 2004 10:37 PM

I think the scoop looks fine:D,not sure about the wheels tho;)

Wouldnt mind a set of 18s or 19s but only just put a set of avon zz3s on! ;)

StickyMicky 09 April 2004 12:35 AM

dont like that at all

Brun 09 April 2004 09:12 AM

Sorry http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/cwm/puke.gif

andypugh2000 09 April 2004 09:17 AM

I think it looks great...................on a blob eye :( but I honestly think the standard one keeps the subtle looking front that the classics were born with :D but saying that if i see it in the flesh it may be a different story, anyway its certaintly different :D

CEL 09 April 2004 12:44 PM

Woo hooo at last someone has done it... nice one Johnny, looks excellent, cant wait to get mine now :D

TonyBurns 09 April 2004 12:50 PM

Yup does look better on a New Age, does this one have the intercooler splitter though? (pretty useless without it really).

Tony:D

Madjay2 09 April 2004 01:06 PM

i like it, looks good although the wheels do belong on a corsa/nova but it still looks nice, i'd drive it with pride:D

dont get Scoobynetters who mock nova/corsa drivers as they are exactly the same, bit like the kettle calling the pot black.

kevin stanton 09 April 2004 02:32 PM

could do with seeing a full side on photo, but it does look maaaasssssiiiivvvveeee.

:D

stevebt 09 April 2004 03:45 PM

i like it , but have you got a full on side view in the daylight ;)

willy 09 April 2004 03:51 PM

How did you make it fit?

Willy

Terzo 333 09 April 2004 04:50 PM

Car definately needs bigger wheels IMHO

Johnny sti 09 April 2004 06:21 PM

New pcs

Hi all
As requested, some closer pics of the scoop. Im sorry if they arnt to good but im crap with the camera!
It was mounted with screws and sealed. Im not sure what the intercooler splitter is meant to do, nothing of any interest i should think, but i fitted it for style and to be individual.

SUBTYPER 09 April 2004 06:44 PM

It looks ok and good on you for being the first to make this scoop fit. Altho if it was in a different colour as in the whole car and the main supports or the vertical bars in side the scoop were black it might make it look a bit better.

Does it effect the road noise or the strength of the bonnet at speed as in does the bonnet flex with it fitted.

I really dont drive it hard since the engine died last march.
I know that on the motorway it flexed but i havent been on since the upgrade.
When i got it back, i did toy with the idea of taking the supports off but as i said it has grown on me by the day. If anything, the bonnet now seems heavier. I know it sounds silly to say since its had the scoop fitted it should be, but i feel it helps stop flex by some degree.

DJ73 11 April 2004 09:55 PM

Jsti, car's FOOOOOOKing great must be the first classic with sti8 scoop on,the upright bit's will help the scoop not flexing(that's why subaru put them on) IMO i would leave them on or you could paint them black so they didn't stand out, top job :D :D

Johnny sti 11 April 2004 10:36 PM

Thanks alot DJ :D :D
I will be posting some more close ups of it as requested. Was meant to do it today but the Doreen thought it would be a good idea to take a walk to the white horse monument in Wiltshire at the top of a mastive hill/ everest! If anyone knows where that is, they will know how much fun it was!!

Personally i dont think it works, its like old meets new in a bad way.

I think an original classic modd'd subtly with some choice additions looks far better.
IMO of course.

Looking good

Been looking at these for my myo1 how have you stuck it on is it just bonded to the bonnet and then sprayed. Have you had any trouble with lift at high speeds, im just wondering as i dont travel below 100 that often!!!!

Would be grateful for your input

cheers TONY

jbagh 09 June 2004 08:34 AM

Where did you buy them?

DeanF 09 June 2004 11:14 AM

Johny, Looks Mighty Fine & Mighty large,
Question.

How does your alloy bonnet cope at high speed & even worse high speed & an oncoming bowling on artic lorry, Mine with the standard scoop looks like it's going to part company at the best of times

Dean
