ongoing boost problem
 

i have finally given up and notice that there sounds like an air leak somewhere. its nothing ive touched, but actually tucked right under the inlet manifold sounds like. is this possible, are there any pipes under to do with boost?

if not round the alternator area maybe?

Have you removed the intercooler and checked for any split or loose hoses?? This would sound like the most probable cause and would be the first thing to check IMO :D

yep and nothing! changed spark plugs, changed a knackered coil pack, changed map, maf and boost solenoid.

it idles ruff now and pops occasionally on tick over, if i put me hand on the inlet manifold i can feel knocking??

what dump valve do you have? if its an aftermarket job the spring might have worn out that can cause a boost leak. if its an HKS one they are renowned for causing those symptons.
