Pressure sender

Hi

Ive gotten myself a defi oil pressure guage for an STi 7, just wondering if a 1/8NPT t-piece is required as the instructions say??

I'm about to do the same on a WRX - depends whether you want to keep the dash light (for what it's worth) or use the warning settings on the Defi gauge to tell you if there's a problem.

With the Defis, at least you can set it to a reasonable warning point rather than 2.5psi of the sender :(

Le Mans Motorsport do the t-pieces :)

Cheers Apple

So if i was to set it up so the dashlight wasnt involved then the defi sender just replaces the std one? Its the same thread?

AFAIK it will fit straight in but be careful when screwing in the sender - if it seems to bind up in one or two turns then it's not the right thread - it should turn in more like half a dozen times or more before it starts to tighten (being a taper thread means don't try getting all the thread into the hole- it won't bottom out) (Use PTFE ? Teflon sealing tape as well when you do a final install)

Don't put a BSP adaptor into the hole as, although it seems to fit, it isn't the corect mating thread form (thread angle, pitch etc).

I'll have alook around for some more info as the Defi website was confusing when I looked quickly, earlier :(

I'm still waiting for my gauge so I can't "play with the bits" at the moment...
