MAF????
Could my ongoing problem with det and lift-off det be due to a dying MAF?
MY96 Sti Stuart PS going to get my plugs changed from denso iridium's to ngk pfr7b's today to see if it is them. |
Possibly, but unlikely in your scenario. If your MAF was on it's last legs, your Knocklink would be active further down in the rev range. Also, your Lambdalink under WOT would be showing something other than rich.
When you do your plugs, have a good look at the ones you're taking out. Will give you more of an idea what's going on inside your cylinders... |
Cheers Judge
Just leaving to go get them done. Will post later what the plugs looked like when taken out. Stuart :) |
Right my plugs looked a bit dead. They were breaking down under high load. Replaced them with new NGK's and hey presto back in business. However the plugs had the deposits from running octane booster for so long ie they were all red/orange colour. The problem with the knocklink showing full red was due to the release bearings spinning when coming off the throttle.
Many thanks goes out to kev and especially marc at The Garage in Wishaw...many thanks guys!!! Stuart :) |
