Any news on the next version of PS2 and Xbox?
Dont want to fork out for an xbox with the new one coming out in a year or something?

both boxes due by xmas next year

although both microsoft and sony seem to be awaiting each other making the first move with specs.

rumours are about that sony will be releasing a PStwo - a shrunken console like they did with the first playstation, they've already registered the website and trade name. they're also saying that the PS3 could be available in 2 different versions - 1 just the games console, and the other like the PSX thats emerging now.

PSP looks good though, out this year aparently.

with some of the first person shooters on the way - looks like the PC could give both of them a good run though.

this is supposedly some in game footage (very short) of a game using PS3/XBOX2 'style' technology - its being written for both platforms - MS are supposed to be demo'ing XBOX2 at Mays E3, but I've heard 2005/2006 release dates for both platforms -

Having said all that, you're asking the wrong man - cos I bought megadrive, saturn, N64, dreamcast, ps1, ps2, xbox and gamecube ! - I still have 2 ps2s, a gamecube and 3 xbox's !!!! -

Xbox 2 dev units have already been shipped to certain development houses (under very tight NDAs), so 2005 seems more likely than 2006/ You never can tell though :)

Bought PS2 first, then Xbox and gamecube - Laddo wanted an xbox for his bedroom, and I convinced the missus to replace the DVD player in our bedroom for another xbox !

Daughter had the PS2 for her room for Chrimble ... (Dance mat and eyetoy fan..)
