Engine flush worth using?
Hi is it worth using an engine flush when you do your oil change on previous cars non-turbo I have used a engine flush the ones you add to the used oil for 10 minutes at idle then drain it. Also going to put Castrol RS 10-60w is this a suitable oil?

i wouldnt recomend it, but i have no data to show you which proves why i dont belive in them
far better to do regular oil changes IMO |
How regular do you do oil changes it says 6 months or 7500 miles I was thinking maybe every 3 months or 3000 miles?
|
I would prefer not to have flushing oil in the car in case it allows damage to occur when you drive after the oil change because there will be some left in the system.
The suggestions about regular oil changes at 3K miles are much better for the health of the engine. Les |

ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!!! David API Engines. PS Get my drift ? |
Especially if your car has a questionable history. They are know to loosen sludge deposits and which may block the pickup.
Hey David...any other reasons why not? - just an area I've not looked into that much, so I'm curious :) |
I'm guessing that oil that thin in the turbo would not be good for starters, especially given that the oil thats in the turbo wouldn't get drained when you drain the rest!!
