Folks I've got the weights of a lot of wheels from another topic I posted...
Since we have so much information I may as well complete it. Try and make a reasonably comprehensive wheel 'database' so people can decide what wheels to buy. Try and make this as diverse as possible, but mainly for 17" alloys as these are most peoples upgrade option... So if you have info please send...Prodrive wheels, Speedline, Oz, BBS (eg. 22B), Scoobysport, etc. All wheels past and present! I will publish this on my Impreza website and maybe we can include a URL to it from the SIDC FAQ? If you can think of any way of improving what I suggest below etc., please reply also. Is there anything I'm missing in the 'record' below for a wheel? Can people supply me with the following: - name: (eg. Safari) - manufacturer: (eg. Speedline & Prodrive) - approx cost: <optional> - size: yy x zz (eg. 17x7) - offset: ETxx - weight without tyre: xx kg - colours: - design description: - problems: - URL: My first entry will be: - name: Superleggera - manufacturer: OZ - approx cost: £175 inclusive - size: 17x7 - offset: ET48 - weight without tyre: 7.5 Kg - colours: satin titanium grey - design description: 12 spoke arranged in a subtle double spoke, spokes arch in similar way to OZ Prodrive wheel - problems: - URL: |
Here are the entries for the P1 wheels.
Not sure about the weight or cost of the 18" version. - name: Prodrive (P1 wheel) 17" - manufacturer: Oz/Prodrive - approx cost: £250 - size: 17x7 - offset: ET52 - weight without tyre: 9.5 kg - colours: carbon grey, gold (Prodrive limited edition) - design description: 10 spoke - problems: availability - URL: |

-Speedline/Prodrive -£150 + VAT (£175) -7x17 -ET 52 -10.5 kg -Gold/Anthracite -7 spoke, flat faced spokes extending to rim edge |
Not got a wheel to enter, but one important fact missing is clearing aftermarket brake kits. Its fine buying the wheel, but afterwards if you add AP, Brembo or Alcon will it work

True...brake clearance is an issue...
Suppose it will depend on which brake kit exactly though. Will people be able to tell from the offset though? Mike |
