differences between a US and UK WRX
 

Anyone know what the difference is between the WRX sold in the US versus one that's sold in Europe

Is the ECU different in terms of HW or SW
Are the lights and reflectors different
Emissions?
Fuses/Safety questions?

I have a US-spec 2004 WRX Sedan:

• The bumper beams are different for improved impact protection (5mph vs. 2.5mph).
• Due to the bigger bumper beam, we have smaller projector fog lights
• The headlights are plastic and have amber marker lights on the corners
• Our taillights have no rear fog lamp and have been rewired so we have a secondary parking light and brake lamp.
• We have no turn signal repeaters on the front fenders
• Our exhausts have (2) O2 sensors on each side of the cat and the ECU is OBD-2 (not sure if the EU or UK cars are like that or not)

While on the topic of differences...I am looking to rewire my taillamps to EU spec and source a rear fog light switch so I can have an integrated rear fog in the taillights. I did this with my last car (a 1997 VW Golf Cabrio) and a european switch. It looks like a similar procedure with the Impreza's sedan tails (outer lights=brakes, middle=parking, insides=fog). Where currently the US-spec tails are (outer lights=park/brakes, middle=parking, insides=brake).

1. Where can I buy the rear fog light switch? Is is a separate button? We can't get them here in the US, so I need a part number (for MY04).
2. A wiring schematic would be ideal...if someone could forward that to me, I'd be very grateful. Or better yet, tell me where I can by a UK/EU shop manual.
