Can anyone suggest the best option for upgrading the brakes from standard.

I know how popular the AP conversion is, but I am not looking to spend that kind of cash (new baby see's to that !)

I won't be doing any track days, road use only.

All comments greatfully received.

If you've got the old 2 pot calipers, get a second hand set of 4 pots, about £250ish.
Uprate the pads, Mintex 1155 are good value at about £70.
Braided steel lines are also a good buy, about £60. DOT 5 fluid may also be worthwhile.

Hope this helps.

Backing up what Tony said http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif I have four-pots as standard, and have replaced front pads (1155s) front discs (Bremsport grooved) rear pads (Prodive/Ferrodo DS2000) and fitted braided lines and brake support bracket. Total cost £325/350. Makes a staggering difference, stopping power (when warmed) so powerful it gives a split second headache, fitting better rear pads (only done last weekend) make the car dive less/squat more, and even on track days I have not had any brake fade http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif In fact my SO2s went off before brakes did http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

AP/Brembo/Alcon set ups will, I am sure, take things to yet another level, and one day perhaps I'll be tempted, but so far the transformation is staggering compared to std, and a fraction of the cost of a proper upgrade http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
