my97 instrument/dials problem!
 

I've just attempted a white dial conversion on my car. Removed needles, fitted new dials, tried to replace needles but the fuel and tenp gauge needles won't go back on. What do I need to do to get them on or have I broken them?
Any advice would be appreciated, also where to buy second hand replacements if they are goosed!!
