Well, first of all, you need to find a different MoT station.

The one I use always replaces bulbs, wiper blades et al, rather than failing the car, then charges me accordingly..........and good prices too.

As far as replacement is concerned, front sidelight, right?

Open bonnet, and remove screw at inner edge of sidelight/top outer edge of headlight.

Grasp sidelight, and pull hard straight out...........it's on a ball and socket joint.
The bulb holder releases by twisting, and the bulb is a ...........(pause while I go and check),...............W5W:D:

Replacement: grease ball and socket first, place sidelight so that ball is on socket, and rap it smartly home with heel of hand, replace screw, close bonnet. Job's a good'un.

Don't worry if the ball snaps off the light unit, mine did, and has been successfully repaired with Araldite, superglue, and a length of brass strip from a model shop. It's been in and out several times since, with no ill effects.

"grease ball and socket first" very very good advise. comes out a treat the next time one blows.
Like greasing the screws in the number plate light covers (after having to drill the original ones out !!)
