Shame about the boat (race)

What was the Oxford cox on? On full rudder? Hmm...

IWatkins 28 March 2004 09:42 PM

Always wondered this. They are the only two boats on a wide river. The boats are not that big and only do about 15mph. They are driven by people from two of the top universities in the world, but they still manage to crash into each other ?

:D

Cheers

Ian

Because the course if so full of curves, it is all about trying to get the "racing line" hence why you need to stay as close to the other boat as possible.

Of course, today they pushed it too far.

I'd like to find out who gave the Cox a microphone? Live on BBC 1 at 5.30 and he says:

This is where we really f*ck them!!!
lol :D

scoobynutta555 29 March 2004 01:35 PM

Hats off to the do gooders that called the bbc to complain about the swear words on tv. Big f*****g deal, these w*****s obviously live life wrapped up in cotton wool.

ProperCharlie 29 March 2004 01:38 PM

shame they didn't sink. both of them, that is. how are you supposed to score in a f*cking boat in any case?

BMWhere? 29 March 2004 01:39 PM

Didn't even realise it was on! I guess Cambridge won it then?

P.S. Do you mind not swearing on here, otherwise I'll have to report you to the webmaster! ;):p

ALi-B 29 March 2004 01:41 PM

Shame about the boat (race)
Thought you were referring to the commercialisation of the event, and the 'Noel Edmonds House Party' style way they introduced the members of the crew at the start.

Of course the cox's are bound to turn the air blue during the race. It's part of the job. I'll bet it made the sponser squirm though. A good job, well f**kin' done!!

NACRO 29 March 2004 04:30 PM

Both teams are constituted of c*nts with more money than talent. They aren't even the best teams in the UK. The whole thing is a joke event watched by tosspots without any kind of idea.

fatherpierre 29 March 2004 04:36 PM

You're not keen then?

I didn't even know it was taking place.

Mikkk 29 March 2004 04:38 PM

I take it you didn't go to Oxford or Cambridge then?? :D

NACRO 29 March 2004 04:45 PM

Went to Hughes Hall actually. Still think the boat racers are c*nts though :D

Err...they don't claim to be the best. It is Oxford Uni versus Cambridge Uni, so that kind of restricts the team members to, umm, let me see, Oxford Uni & Cambridge Uni. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but they don't make up the whole of the UK :)

Umm.....most sports are watched by people who have no idea. What's new? :)

NACRO 29 March 2004 04:53 PM

hmmmn and both teams are still, let me guess, constituted of total c*nts. :D

Just out of interest, what exactly is it that makes them "c*nts"? Has one of them nicked your bird or something? Can't really see the justification for such a sweeping generalisation. :)

Tiggs 29 March 2004 04:56 PM

"They aren't even the best teams in the UK"

im no football expert but arent there lots of matches on telly that dont feature the best teams in the UK?????

nacro's just jealous that's all.

NACRO 29 March 2004 08:26 PM

nah it's because they (this years teams) are a bunch of c*nts. I'm still young and fit enough to think I could probably train to their level. Unlike Uncle Buck I'm not an indolent tw*t who sits around watching TV all night:D

So that'll be why they were on the Thames and you weren't then :)

ie, you sitting on your a$$ - pot kettle black :)

True enough. You are more of an alienated 'jonny no mates' who sits around tap.. tap.. tapping at his keyboard, trolling for the next bite.

I'm fairly interested in the definition of a cnut from Cambridge University. Would it be obnoxious, provocative, arrogant and insecure?

:D

No, you'll find the c*nts are the boat teams.

Chrisgr31 30 March 2004 08:01 AM

Hmmm what lovely comments

NACRO 30 March 2004 08:07 AM

Actually I was only joking, I wondered what kind of response the largely blue collar/IT monkey demographic of scoobynet would make of my comments.

Unfortunately I forgot the prime candidates are so full of impotent rage they prefer to focus on attacking me. Not that I mind, it's all good.:D
