Intercooler---Water Vs Air

Which works best.

Water cooled intercooler fitted to my 94 Legacy.

or

Air cooled intercooler fitted to Impreza.

air as it doesn't need a water pump ie chargecooler on legacy. Less problems and more power since it doesn't need to run a pump.
Someone could perhaps tell you in more depth....calling GM!!!
