I am currently running 205/45/17 PZero tyres and am looking to change them.
I have noticed a lot of people go for 215/45/17 as a replacement, but has anybody got any experience of changing to 205/40/17?

Also can anybody give me any idea of what price I would expect to pay for the like of a toyo / SO2.

most people fit 215/40 x 17 as a replacement, not 215/45 x 17.

A 205/40 x 17 tyre would have very small sidewalls, so the ride would definitely be on the firm side!

I would recommend either sticking with the 205/45 P Zero, or going for a 215/40 Toyo or Bridgestone S02. Phone around for the best prices, but expect to pay about £100 all in for the Toyos, and £125 for the S02s.

I've ran 215/40x17 Pirelli P7000's from new and can't really fault them, though I have tried a friends 16" equipped Scooby on Toyo's and was impressed.
Have now covered 16000 miles and still have 4mm tread left which is good considering there a lot of "B" class Scooby roads round my way. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they have considering the treadwear rating is only 160.
Haven't experienced any tramlining yet with these tyres either.
