£350 to fit a clutch...?

Am I being ripped off??

£200 to fit a set of coilovers???

Scooby96 23 March 2004 06:00 PM

Thats £350 for fitting - I'm supplying the clutch!

TopBanana 23 March 2004 07:01 PM

Sounds expensive to me. Are they going to do a full laser geometry adjustment after fitting the coilovers? If so, it's about right.

scoobyboy 23 March 2004 08:00 PM

sounds expensive we charge about £250 give or take a bit

Jay m A 23 March 2004 08:19 PM

Mike Rivett will do a clutch for £150, he's near Dorking, dare I say he'll fit the springs for less too.

Markus 23 March 2004 08:38 PM

Where you getting it fitted? As you're a local lad I'm wondering if you're using GDA.

Scooby96 24 March 2004 09:36 AM

Yup that was a GDA quote!

Got charged £40 for an MOT!!

CustomScoobyIOM 24 March 2004 09:38 AM

Ouch.

My guy does labour for £140.

Johnny50 24 March 2004 09:45 AM

Yep, sounds expensive.
My car was in a garage last week,
Got headers, turbo, injectors, fuel pump, calipers, disk + pads..

All parts supplied by me, but labour came to £400.

Typical price for a Scooby clutch supplied and fitted, same day, arranged in advance is £300. Top workmanship by one of three specialists. North East England.
I think I saw Scoobyclinic advertising for less and they seem to be popular with those that have used them.
Where are you located.

Scooby96 24 March 2004 10:36 AM

Tunbridge Wells - Kent

Get a price from Knowlesey at Extreme Scoobies. Hope that helps.

i know sumbody who does them for £250 and thats with him supplying the clutch lol
lightend flywheel was about £30 last time i checked as well

Markus 24 March 2004 05:40 PM

Does sound a little high for Graham to charge. You mentioned, *cough* cash *cough* ;)

Can't remember what he charged me for changing my clutch (was a new helix clutch and new flywheel as mine was totally mullered :D). I would look but recipts are in the UK and I'm not. I will say that they are bloody good at GDA and do know what they are doing, so maybe it's not that bad a price.

Scooby96 24 March 2004 07:20 PM

I agree Graham does know what he's talking about but £50 ph - he's hardly main dealer (not that they're any cop!)

I might mention *ahem* C A S H

Alternatively theres xtreme and the like to consider etc etc

I might just try and get another few hundred miles out of it before I change it
