Horrible smell in the car!
 

Just wondered if anyone can help with this one .....

A friend had a fridge freezer break down on them in the garage, but unfortunetly they didnt realise, until it smelt like something had died. In there was the usual veg, meat, etc, etc They took the smelly/rotten stuff down to the tip but one or two of the bags leaked in the car on the way down there.

I've been over it with a commercial numatic shampoo cleaner and although its a lot better smelling, its still loitering with intent and really starting to annoy them as they use there car to ferry old people about to various do's, etc

Anyone got any ideas as to how to get rid of it?

Are you sure it is not the old people causing the smell? :D

If you can lift the carpet, chances are it has soaked though to the sound deadening underneath. You may need to replace this.

had a simlar problem with a leaky bag of cod after a fishing trip. Didn't notice at first, as it was in the boot, but after a day in the sun it minged badly!

Ended up taking out the boot carpet and scrubbing/hosing down. Then after several applications of Febreze and a week in the airing cupboard it was ok!
