Buying in euros by credit card

I am looking to buy a car part from germany for which the company requires payment by credit card in euros. Do most credit card companies charge some sort of surcharge for this?

I have never ordered from abroad before so a bit worried that the good deal i am getting may turn out to be not a good deal after charges!

Thanks

David

depends on the credit card company mine is 1% or £2 whatever the greater. beware of the sell rates they use as well if the market is say 1.54 you may only get circa 1.48 can make a huge differaqnce if it is lots of money.

cheapest way to beat the charges is to open a euro account with someone like citibank, then you can transfer from your sterling account to the euro account and actually get themarket rate at the exact time you do it. no charges, except they will charge £10 for transferring the money to the car dealers bank account.

this has saved me hundreds of pounds over the years.

Nationwide Credit card don't put on a surcharge for use abroad and also give you back 0.5%
