Sainsburys SUL

Just filled up and its only 79ppl :D seems to go ok in my 98 Uk turbo anyone had any problems using this squirt?? ;)

Puff The Magic Wagon! 22 March 2004 08:56 PM

Nope, never had a problem - except when they run out :(

79ppl is the max price, spend £100 in-store & its 75ppl :D

So that's a saving of £2 per tankful (assuming 50l fillup) :D

I find it strange not many on here talk about it, always seems to be optimax rules :) dont like the stuff myself as the car feels unpedictable on spool up, found ultimate flat but sainsburys seems to be on par with esso SUL, nice smooth power delivery and a nice throaty chat from the super drager ;)

NelsonUK 22 March 2004 09:32 PM

Thumbs up here too for Sainsburys SUL - I have tried Optimax which seemed to differ from tank to tank whereas the Scoob definitely seems happier/smoother on Sainsburys SUL.....MY00 ppp

Hey - Pete Lewis swears by it in his scooby... and he also drives a MX-5... so it must be fine ;)

Sainsburys' is fine by me too, and as shell have decided to avoid my area like the plague for an unknown reason, I'm stuck with it as I won't touch BP anymore.

Do any of you have Knocklinks fitted and if so, have you noticed more or less actvity?

I use 100 octane V-Power and it costs me 72ppl at my local shell garage :p

Wurzel 23 March 2004 12:22 PM

funny that because I also use 100 octane V-Power at 72ppl from my local shell garage which also gives me 10 smart points per litre and I have a knocklink fitted.

BMWhere? 23 March 2004 12:32 PM

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Doppel-Punkten :D I've almost got enough points now for one of those Kärcher jet wash things!

NACRO 23 March 2004 12:39 PM

I paid 61p/ltr for 98 RON Shell fuel at my last fill up (in Spain approx 40m miles from my house)

Anyone found any cheaper than that?

No cheating and including hire car fill ups in the states!

BMWhere? 23 March 2004 12:45 PM

Close, I can pop over the border to Austria (about 20 miles) and get 99 Octane Shell Optimax for 66ppl (€0.99/l). 5p & 1 octane more than Spain.

Wurzel 23 March 2004 01:24 PM

Luxembourg is the place to go isn't it something stupid like 30p a litre or something ???

can't remember exactly but it is lots cheaper than here.

andypugh2000 23 March 2004 07:04 PM

 how cheap  think i will stay with the old sainsburys stuff for a while due to being skint :D

Pistol_Pete 23 March 2004 11:27 PM

It might be the best fuel in the world but I refuse to buy anything from Sainsbury while they continue to line the pockets of that annoying tosspot Jamie Oliver. :)

But surely Pete if you were to burn him alive it would be fitting to 'baste' him in Sainsbury's finest, non?
