are you talking about real champagne or bubbly? if you want real champagne, majestic are rarely beaten on price. also sainsbury's own brand extra dry is very good. if you want cheaper bubbly i can recommend this guy's cremant d'alsace.

Local wine place in Basingstoke http://www.bbr.com/GB/db/region/16?f...8ZLBVP4M3100BL does some good deals.

You got me looking at what is really expensive, which I thought was stuff like Cristal at £200, but a magnum of 1979 Krug at £663 or a Nebuchnzr of Pol Roger at nearly a grand a bottle are the winners!

The Tesco's stuff aint too bad either.

Depending on how much you want, and if you're close enough to Dover, a day trip to Calais would seem to be the answer.

Over there, stuff that retails here for £13 is £7-8 a bottle!

Can't remember the last time I bought ANY alcohol for home consumption anywhere else.
