anyone recommend a great hotel in York city centre?
 

Need a nice relaxing hotel in city of York for a weekend. Pool facilities would be nice but not essential. Prefer hotels with style & class (not modern chains) - preferably 4 poster beds, real fires, you know the stuff.

Anyone?

the dean court, slap bang next to York Minster was quite nice a few years back. Abut £130 a night , say, 7 years ago.

I have a piccie of the juccuzi, but its spoilt because faceache is in it :(

Go on the York Tourist Board website and you can book 3 nights at a cheaper rate than the hotels offer, I did it and stayed at the Lady Anne Middleton which is between the two bridges in the middle of York.
There are loads on the website to choose from and are rated Silver / Gold etc for the amenities.
Have a good break.
