Allocation on arrival

Seen some cheap hols to Tenerife on offer, but there is a catch- we won't know where we are staying until we get there. I am not fussed which apartments we get, but I am unsure if we could end up in the middle of nowhere
Anyone done this and had a bad experience?
At £225 a head all in, I can't be too fussy I guess :D

It is another £100 a head just to name the apartments :(

Went to Grand Caneria with allocation on arrival, had a superb little cottage type thing on a complex, couldn't fault it. Did the same with Cypus and endded up in a dive of a hotel that leaked when it rained. Hotel was miles from the airport and it a crappy part of Cyprus.

Guess it's pot luck really - you get what is available when you arrive, you may get lucky, you may not, depends how much of a risk taker you are.

I wouldnt do AOA for the reason of ending up in some dive that would/could kill the holiday itself for us. I've always done named so I can look it up on here and get some kind of feedback ....

At the kind of money your looking at spending you should still be able to find something named in the above link thats quite nice and where you want it to be. I was looking at the Canaries this morning and they were starting from £150+ for named, but this is for after Easter and we dont want to pay the "holiday" premium.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

Cheers

I have got a few numbers to try tomorrow, may save a few quid.

Flying from Humberside airport means that we don't get the real bargains that some airports offer. The plus side is that it is only a 5 min 'taxi' ride away, so don't have to spend a day either side travelling. :)

Nice one.
Saved myself £30 and got named resort and a list of 3 apartments it could be. All sound very nice. :D
