How to restart Windows XP SP1 update?
 

Update failed due to laptop battery dying 10 mins in (thought it was on mains, socket was switched off - D'oh).

Now the update is not shown on the critical updates, nor is it listed in Add/Remove. How do I clear what it has done so far to start over?

Can't use System Restore as it was switched off.

can you connect to windowsupdates.microsoft.com?

Assuming you had an 's' too many, I can connect to windowsupdate.microsoft.com, which takes me to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp. From there I can scan for updates, but the one I want is not listed (it's usually the first one)

Don't know how to find the update manually (if such a method exists)

how big is SP1? it's probably included on a magazines cover cd in a shop if the download is massive.
